Students may apply for ONE of these three scholarships:
$2,000 College Scholarships and $2,500 David and Karen Stahl Memorial Scholarship
- Offered to: Graduating high school seniors who plan to major in music performance, therapy or education in college.
- Requirements: Application with a minimum GPA of 2.5, SAT score of 1000 (not including the Writing score) or ACT of 21, letters of recommendation, and a successful audition
- Number offered: Up to five scholarships; applicant with highest audition score will be honored with the David and Karen Stahl Memorial Scholarship and 4 additional scholarships of $2,000 will be awarded.
- Application deadline: All information must be postmarked by January 31, 2013.
- Audition: Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the College of Charleston Simmons Center Recital Hall, at 54 St. Phillip Street in downtown Charleston.
Matching Grant Awards
(CLICK HERE FOR APPLICATION)The CSOL® offers $250 per semester ($500 total), matched by the parent or guardian, for private music study.
- Offered to: Members of the Youth Orchestra of the Lowcountry.
- Requirements: YOLow member, application, and successful audition.
- Number offered: Up to five scholarships
- Application deadline: Must be postmarked by January 31, 2013.
- Audition: Monday, March 4, 2013, at the College of Charleston Simmons Center Recital Hall, at 54 St. Phillip Street in downtown Charleston.
Summer Study Awards
(CLICK HERE FOR APPLICATION)- Offered to: Tri-county music students, 5th grade or older.
- Requirements: Application, involvement in current musical study, successful audition, and proof of summer study plans.
- Number offered: As funds allow.
- Application deadline: Must be postmarked by January 31, 2013.
- Audition: Saturday, March 2, 2013*, at the College of Charleston Simmons Center Recital Hall, at 54 St. Phillip Street in downtown Charleston.
*If a student has a conflict with a state sponsored musical event such as All-State, the audition may be scheduled for Monday, March 4.
